YOUR NEW SENIOR MUSTANGS 

BMTA are proud to welcome 65 new players to our Senior Mustangs Program this year. These 65 players will be representing BMTA at the upcoming Queensland State Cup on the 29th of November - 1st of December at Coomera Gold Coast. Our new Senior Mustangs players have each been assigned their official legacy number and will now take a place on our 'Legacy Numbers' page...

QLD STATE CUP TEAMS 

BMTA are pleased to share our 2024 Queensland State Cup Teams. We are excited to be taking 14 teams to Coomera from the 29th of November - 1st of November. Our teams have been training hard in the lead up to the state event and are being supported by our amazing volunteer coaches, managers and coaching directors Wayne Grant and Leeanne Bauer...

Patron’s VI vs Chairman's VI Charity Match 

On Wednesday, BMTA was proud to host the Patron’s VI vs Chairman’s VI match to raise money for the Small Steps 4 Hannah foundation. The match was a huge success with so many key members of the local community lacing up the boots for a great cause. The Small Steps 4 Hannah Foundation exists to HALT the cycle of domestic violence so that everyone can feel respected, informed, confident to act, and safe. BMTA is pleased to share that $1510.00 was raised...

Record High All Abilities Participants!

BMTA's annual All Abilities Program recently started on the 19th of August with record high participation numbers. It has been amazing to see our 17 athletes turning up and giving it their all. It is great to have a wide variety of participants taking part in the program who are of different ages and abilities, with our youngest athlete just 8 years old and our oldest being 54. Our All Abilities athletes participate in a range of rotational activities each week which have them learning new skills associated with the core areas of touch football...

Mustangs Coach Success at World Cup
BMTA would like to acknowledge and congratulate four of our Junior and Senior Mustangs Coaches on their recent successes at the Touch Football World Cup in Nottingham England.​ BMTA's 2024 14 Girls Blue Coach, Swain Rovelli, was Australia's Womens Opens Head Coach and led his team to a Gold Medal victory in their division defeating New Zealand 6-2. Swain is one of our Senior Coaches who we are extremely grateful and lucky to have as part of our Mustangs programs...

Inaugural Perpetual Trophy Presentation

At the 51st Anniversary Cup, BMTA were proud to unveil 3 new perpetual trophies named after BMTA Life Members Jim Schaumberg, Peter Ridgewell and Russell Mowles. These men played in integral role to the foundation of BMTA and the sport in QLD, we are very proud to have their legacy celebrated in conjunction with our Anniversary Cup. We thank Jim Schaumberg and Peter Ridgewell for attending the 51st Anniversary Cup to present their trophies for the very first time, we also look forward to welcoming Russell Mowles in future years as he was overseas and unable to attend in 2024...

During our 51st Anniversary Cup presentations, BMTA were proud to make a special presentation to acknowledge the contributions of John Clark and present him with a framed Mustangs jersey as a token of appreciation for his many years of service at BMTA. At our recent AGM, having reached the end of his elected term, John made the decision to retire from the BMTA Board after many years of service. In addition to his many other contributions, John came up with the initial concept for the event, now known as the Anniversary Cup. Given the 51st Anniversary Cup would not exist without his vision, it was the perfect opportunity to honour his extensive contributions to BMTA...

Junior Mustangs at Arthur Davis Cup

BMTA's 22 Junior Mustangs teams attended Redland's Arthur Davis Cup on Sunday the 19th of May. Our teams have been training hard every Sunday and we are in awe at how far they have all come since the first warm-up carnival. Junior Mustangs at Gold Coast Cup

On Sunday the 28th of April, BMTA’s 22 Junior Mustangs teams attended Gold Coast Cup, their first warm-up carnival of the 2024 program. This was the first opportunity our teams had to play together in a tournament style competition versing teams they will be going up against at Junior State Cup. 2024 Mustang Stampede

Sunday the 14th of April marked BMTA’s 2024 Mustang Stampede. It was a terrific afternoon which saw our 22 Junior Mustangs teams get together for training, uniform collection, presentations, and a round of games. BMTA’s Mustang Stampede is a highlight of our Junior Mustang Program as it fosters a strong club culture for our players and solidifies our one big Mustang team.

A WRAP-UP ON BMTA AT THE CHAMPIONSHIPS 2024
Well, that’s a wrap! From the 8th – 10th of March, BMTA took to the fields at C.ex International Stadium in Coffs Harbour for the #reimagined Championships 2024. This was the first year BMTA competed as an affiliate and it is safe to say we are not going anywhere anytime soon. BMTA entered teams into the Women’s 20s, Women’s Opens, Women’s 27s and Mixed Open divisions, with two teams making quarter finals and one team coming out on top...
