BMTA X Broncos Holiday Camp
Last Tuesday morning, BMTA were proud to welcome Mele Hufanga and Tafito Lafaele from the NRLW Brisbane Broncos team attend our Touch Football Holiday Camp. The Brisbane Broncos are a proud BMTA sponsor and it was fantastic to have their players and staff involved in our June Holiday Camp. The day started with a massive game of red rover, a fan favourite of BMTA’s Holiday Camp, with over 100 kids playing! Mele is a Broncos, Tonga and Kiwi NRLW star and was named NRLW Dally M Centre of the Year 2023. The kids absolutely loved working on their attacking skills with Mele and BMTA’s coaches including Junior Mustangs Captain Lily Neill. The kids also loved Broncos and Black Ferns star Tafito working with our coaches to help them improve their defensive skills. On top of this, the kids were able to play numerous Brisbane Broncos themed games including giant jenga, passing contests and cornhole, which were run by Brisbane Broncos Staff.
To end the morning, the kids were gifted posters, mini footballs and were even put to the test by Mele with some tricky riddles! To top off the morning, Mele and Tafito spent time signing caps, footballs and posters. BMTA would like to extend a huge thank to Mele and Tafito for their attendance as well as the Staff from the Brisbane Broncos for their continued support of BMTA and for helping put on an incredibly fun Tuesday morning for our Holiday Campers.
After the best start to the June Touch Football Holiday Camp, the kids went on to have a great three more days over the Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. BMTA was proud to welcome 158 total kids to our holiday camp and can't wait to see this next generation of Touch Footy superstars in our 2024 Season 2 competitions starting in early August!
