At the 51st Anniversary Cup, BMTA were proud to unveil 3 new perpetual trophies named after BMTA Life Members Jim Schaumberg, Peter Ridgewell and Russell Mowles. These men played in integral role to the foundation of BMTA and the sport of Touch Football in QLD, we are very proud to have their legacy celebrated in conjunction with our Anniversary Cup. We thank Jim Schaumberg and Peter Ridgewell for attending the 51st Anniversary Cup to present their trophies for the very first time, we also look forward to welcoming Russell Mowles in future years as he was overseas and unable to attend in 2024.

In line with our Strategic Plan, BMTA is committed to supporting and celebrating our people, it was excellent to see many BMTA life members and members of our community attend our 51st Cup presentations to help launch the new perpetual trophies. We also thank BMTA Life Member Reg Barr who presented the Russell Mowles Cup in Russell's absence.

We congratulate the inaugural winners of our Anniversary Cup Trophies:

Mixed Competitive Champions – Winners of the Jim Schaumberg Cup: Duck Sake

Mixed Social Champions – Winners of the Peter Ridgewell Cup: Down For Me

Men’s 40s Champions – Winners of the Russell Mowles Cup: Hold My Beer

The new trophies and attendance of many BMTA Life Members is exactly what the Anniversary Cup concept is all about; celebrating the great history of BMTA and the people who helped BMTA become what it is today.

We thank all of the teams who participated on the day and bought into the concept of celebrating BMTA and its history through touch footy, off-field fun, mates and community. Planning is already underway for the 52nd Anniversary Cup which will be held at a similar time in 2025.
