On Sunday the 28th of April, BMTA’s 22 Junior Mustangs teams attended Gold Coast Cup, their first warm-up carnival of the 2024 program. This was the first opportunity our teams had to play together in a tournament style competition versing teams they will be going up against at Junior State Cup. Each team played a minimum of four games over the course of the 11-hour day. Some highlights of the carnival included an intense drop off for our 10 Girls Red in their semi final which ended in victory, our 18 Girls being undefeated and winning their division, and our 18 Boys pulling away from a 1-1 score at half time in their semi final to finish 4-3 and secure a spot in the grand final. It was amazing to see so many teams make finals at their first carnival, well done to all our Mustangs on their performance yesterday.

BMTA would also like to extend their thanks to the coaches and managers who led our teams yesterday. It was a long and sometimes rainy day and BMTA appreciates all your efforts in leading warm-ups, taking the players to games and making sure they were well hydrated, fed and rested. A huge thank you also goes out to our parent volunteers who stepped in to help organise a delicious morning tea and lunch for our Mustangs. Finally, thank you to our BMTA referees for their attendance and efforts at the event - Ashleigh Oates, Campbell Muir, Ella Grant, Emma Chaffey, Emme Jansen, Eva Svensson, Heather Shanks, John Hamstra, Kaelen Luu, Kahlia Mills, Makaela Tepoorten, Michael Genrich, Tory Mills, Olivia Saba, Olivia Waldon, Riley Wotton, Troy Hale, Will Atchison, Zoe Genrich, Eden Waugh and Shobna Moore.

We cannot wait to see our fields in three weeks time at Arthur Davis Cup for BMTA's second warm-up carnival of our 2024 Junior Mustangs program.
