BMTA REFEREE SUCCESS AT THE CHAMPIONSHIPS

Last weekend, BMTA had a whopping 16 referees attend The Championships in Coffs Harbour. BMTA are always very proud of our referees and it was excellent to have not just a strong attendance at the event, but to also see many of our referees achieve finals appointments and upgrades.
The level 6 referee badge is the highest possible accreditation achievable in the TFA referee framework. Being awarded the Level 6 badge is considered one of the highest honors in refereeing and represents a culmination of years of dedication and hard work. BMTA was so proud to have 5 referees achieve this honor at The Championships, with 3 referees being home grown BMTA Level 1 to 6 referees, meaning they have refereed at BMTA throughout their entire refereeing journey. BMTA extends our congratulations to the following Level 6 upgrade recipients:
Blake Cooper
Jacob Gregg
Sam Priestley
Alec Williams
Ben Horner (SNR)
In addition to our Level 6 upgrade recipients, BMTA wishes to acknowledge the 10 referees who received a Grand Final appointment. Similar to receiving the Level 6 upgrade, receiving a Grand Final appointment is a highly prestigious honor and we are so proud to have so many referees recognised amongst the top referees in the country. BMTA wishes to congratulate the following referees on their Grand Final appointments:
Mixed Open A – Campbell Muir
Mixed Open A – Zoe Genrich
Women’s Open A – Zac Genrich
Women’s Open A – Jordan Randle
Men’s 20s – John Hamstra
Men’s Open B – Riley Wotton
Women’s 45s – Shobna Moore
Women’s 45s – Michael Genrich
Women’s 50s – Doug Mackie
All Abilities Tier 1 – Campbell Muir
All Abilities Tier 2 – Ashton Sykes
In addition to the names mentioned above, BMTA also wishes to acknowledge the many referees from nearby affiliates who attend BMTA’s Metro Cup who were successful in receiving upgrades and finals appointments.
Without referees we have no game and BMTA is so proud to have such a dedicated and hard-working contingent, congratulations again to all our referee representatives, we can’t wait to see you back at BMTA!
